I talked to Megan and Nate extensively about how they liked to spend time together, and how they like to show and receive love from each other. Inspired by the 5 love languages, I wanted to capture the unique ways that couples enjoy each other’s company, love, and support. One of the things that stood out about Megan and Nate was how the tiny little unexpected things meant so much: things like coffee in bed, the unexpected little cuddle while they’re working, surprise help with house work, etc.
Nate and I schemed to do a surprise breakfast in bed shoot with Megan. I showed up at 7AM (they’re early risers!) and she was in bed, and had no idea that I was documenting Nate in the kitchen preparing breakfast. (By the way, I did make sure that Megan wouldn’t be surprised in a BAD way, and Nate assured me she’d be okay with it). So before we went in, he popped in alone just to say, hey I made you breakfast, and Katch is here too! I’ve known Nate and Megan for a while now, so it’s not as weird as a stranger in your bedroom at 7AM, I promise!
After that we spent most of the day together, hung out, made lunch, then went out for a drive to see the pretty views in their town. A short little “day in the life couple session” for these two, and such a fun and rewarding experience for me.
My usual couple sessions are not this long, but I wanted to spend the day with my friends because I’m interested in seeing and documenting love in many different ways. I currently don’t offer 4-6 hour couple sessions, but if you’re interested, please get in touch and we’ll make it happen! I find it so intimate, honest, and genuine to document a regular day in couple’s life, and I’d love to do more of these if you’re willing to welcome me into your home and your love.
